All that is needed

Palace or humble abode,
suit them equally well.
All that is needed is gentle love.

They do not covet;
Or fill their heart with jealousy;
Nor feel ashamed to honor me.

Incapable of hate
no judgment is passed;
They wish no ill
and never jeer
the old,
the young,
or those with infirmities.

Pleasant seekers
obedient to their laws;
Any shortfall is met with
most sorrowful sorries.

Their greatest peace
is sitting—touching you.
Yesterday is forgotten,
tomorrow not considered,
this very moment with you
is all that matters.

No Baptism needed,
incapable of sin.
Our soul perceives
God's perfection
in those tender moments
when eyes meet.

And when the time comes
to say goodbye,
All that is needed is our voice,
and calming stroke, saying
“Well done my good and faithful servant.”

And yes, all dogs
Go to Heaven.
