On Calling and Obedience

On Calling and Obedience

Is it noble for a Godly man to forgo his inner callings for the sake of his family?

If the Godly man seeks to attend a liturgical church but is met with vehement opposition, should he bury these feelings; never allowing himself to explore the depths of beauty, reverence, and growth his heart desires?

If the Godly man’s vulnerable plea to be a writer is met with Resistance, should he obliterate this silly little dream; never allowing himself to explore the depths of his mind and write about what he finds?

The Godly man is left barren and alone.
He can’t even dream a dream.

Is this what God demands?

Does God not endow everyone with certain predilections and gifts? If so, then is neglecting these callings, even in the name of honoring his family, dishonoring God?
